Our Story

Black Sheep Gifts opened in May 2010. After moving to the Irvington neighborhood in 2000, owner Lisa Bennett said it was hard to find a good greeting card. Following the death of her father, Frank, she decided to invest his life insurance money and become an entrepreneur. The business name is registered with the state as Thanks, Frank LLC as a tribute to her father.

Lisa was known as the black sheep of her family, but on her father’s side, there are only black sheep with a few gray in the herd. Hence the name Black Sheep Gifts.
